Guaranty Trust Bank popularly known as GTBank or GTB is one of the biggest banks in Nigeria with millions of customers. Here are the USSD codes for doing different transactions with your GTBank account on your phone.
GTBank Code
The general code for GTBank mobile banking is *737#. Once you dial this code on your mobile line that is connected to your GTB account, you will be able to make transfers, see your account balance, buy airtime, pay for bills like Electricity, DSTV, Startimes, GoTV and more.
If you are using it for the first time, you will need to set a four (4) digit PIN that you will use to secure your transactions. Make sure you use a random PIN (not your birthday or something someone can easily guess like 1234), also don’t store this PIN anywhere on your phone or anywhere someone else can find it because fraudsters buy stolen phones and try to use USSD banking to transfer money from victims accounts.
Each USSD code transaction costs 6.98 Naira.
GTBank Transfer Code
To transfer money from your GTB account to other banks using USSD, dial this code: *737*2*Amount*Receiver’s Account Number# using the phone number linked to your GTBank account.
You will then be asked to select which bank you’re sending to and then you’ll see the name of the person you are sending to so that you don’t make mistake and send money to someone else. Lastly, you’ll be asked to put your PIN and then the transfer will be processed if you have sufficient money in your account.
If you want to transfer to a GTBank account, dial *737*1*Amount*Receiver’s Account Number#. The daily transfer limit for USSD banking is 1 Million Naira.
GTBank Account Balance Code
To check your account balance, simply dial *737*6*1#, you’ll be shown a screen to enter your 737 PIN. Once you enter your PIN correctly, your account balance will be displayed on the screen.
You can also check your GTB account balance by dialing *737# and selecting the A/C Balance option located on the next screen.
GTBank Recharge Code (Airtime & Data)
To recharge your line connected to your GTB account, simply dial *737*amount#, for example to recharge 500 Naira dial *737*500#.
To recharge any phone number that is not connected to your GTBank account, dial *737*Amount*Receiver’s number#, for example to send 200 Naira airtime to your other line or to your friend, you will dial *737*200*08012345678#, replace 08012345678 I used with the person’s phone number.
To load data on your line or for someone else, dial *737*4# on your phone and follow the instructions on the screen.
GTBank BVN Code
To check your BVN, dial *737*6*1# from your line that is linked to your GTB account and follow the on screen instructions. You can also dial *565*0# to check your BVN for any bank.
GTBank Token Code
To get your soft token from your account, dial *737*7# from your phone number linked to your account, you have to use the token within 120 seconds before it expires.
GtBank Reversal Code
There’s currently no code available for reversal but if your payment failed and your money was not reversed to you, you can use the GTWorld mobile app or GTBank online banking website (gtbank.com) to fill a Dispense Error form.
First, download the GTWorld app from Google Playstore or Apple Store. On the GTWorld app, scroll to the next page (you’ll see an arrow pointing right), click on Cards, then click on Dispense Error, fill in the details of the failed transaction and submit, your money will be reversed within 2 weeks.
If you want to do it on the gtbank online banking website, go to gtbank.com, Log In, click on Self Service on the left hand menu, select Dispense Error and then fill in the details of the failed transaction and submit, your money will be refunded within 14 working days.
Please note that to you will need to register for internet banking using the mobile app or website before you can log in and do any transaction. If you have issues registering, simply go to the GTBank branch closest to you for assistance.
GTBank USSD Code for Loan
Here are the codes for the various loans GTB offers.
- To request for a payday loan or salary advance, dial *737*52*40#
- For school fees advance, dial *737*52*30#
- For quickcredit loan, dial *737*51*51#
- For airtime loan, dial *737*8*1#
- To check your loan balance, dial *737*6*2#
GTBank Salary Advance Code
Gtb offers salary advance of up to 50% of your salary if you have a salary account with the bank and they determine that you are qualified for the loan.
The code for the salary advance loan is *737*8*2#, dial it from your phone number linked to your GTBank account to access the loan.
